Sister Mary Alma Sullivan was born on the southeast side of Chicago, Il. Sister Mary Alma is the oldest of four children. In 1951, Sister Mary Alma graduated from Mundelein College with a BA in English and in 1953 she entered the BVM community. Sister Mary Alma received her MA in English from Loyola University in 1965. In 1970, Sister Mary Alma became an English lecturer at Mundelein College and earned an MA in Speech in 1971 from Northwestern University. After Mundelein's merger with Loyola University Chicago in 1991, Sister Mary Alma became an Assistant Professor of Communications.
