Pope's Council Forms Intention For Crowning The Coronation of Our Lady will take place at an all-school, cap-and- gown holy hour on Tuesday, May 1, at 1:10 in the auditorium. The in tention of the ceremony will be the success of the ecumenical council. Gerry Lusson, prefect of the So dality, will crown, assisted by Ei leen Raczak, vice prefect. The Holy Hour will begin with a processional of sodalists and sen iors. Each decade of the rosary will be led by a different class and by the sodalists. The senior class will present roses to the Blessed Virgin. The holy hour will con clude with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament with Father William Clark officiating. Invitations will be sent after '62 Class Plans Grad Work Graduation for many Mundelein seniors does not mean the end to college days but rather one more step taken towards a farther goal. In the history department, Denise Games Planned For Carnival Freshmen and juniors will com bine forces for a gala campus car nival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thurs day, May 17, in the lounge area. Everyone is invited to join in the activities. For a nominal fee, stu dents may take part in the games, auctions and raffles to be held at decorated booths. All proceeds from the carnival will go toward furnishing the new dormitory. Any student wishing to help on committees for the carnival may contact Judy Hubert, junior, or Carol Villanova, freshman. Schedule Play The Desk Set by Felix Gabriel Marchand will be presented May 6 and 7 at 7:30 by the Laetare Play ers. Lenzi received a House Fellowship to the University of Wisconsin. The fellowship will provide her with room, board and tuition. It also requires her to serve as a dorm counselor. From the science department, three girls are going on in their studies. Marge Wechter, chemis try major, received two fellow ships, one to Wayne State Univer sity and the other to Iowa State. Florence Sheber, chemistry, and Palmira Petrauskas, biology, will study at the Illinois School of Medi cine. Marie Dimucci, received a 900 tuition scholarship in French from Northwestern University for 1962- 63. Two other seniors were offered assistantships. Joanne Twomey, history major, obtained an assist antship to Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism. Mary Mar garet Grady, math major, was of fered a teaching assistantship to Loyola University. On this schol arship, Mary could receive her mas ter's degree within a year. Mary Ann Eiler also was offered a 1,500 assistantship in English to Loyola University. FATHER WILLIAM CLARK, the ology instructor and Mrs. John Bo- han, chemistry instructor laugh, re calling Father Clark's awed look when he discovered that the Friday, March 30 Faculty Dinner was really a surprise party for him. At the party, in honor of Father's 25th an niversary as a priest April 3, the faculty presented him with sterling cuff links shaped as April calendars with a diamond set in the third, and a check. The student body pre sented him with a spiritual bouquet and a black attache case. Easter to the '62 graduates, the Reverend William Clark, the junior and senior moderators, the dean of women, the dean of studies, the president. Only those who went to last year's luncheon will be invited to this one; other seniors who wish to attend will be charged 3.50. Otherwise, a fee of 7.50, paid by the juniors covers both girls' din ners. Entertainment, under the super vision of Mary Ellen Spain, will include a vocal quartet comprised of Noreen Walsh, Marianne Wag ner, Judy Hubert and Kaye Coyne, a vocal solo by Jan McFarland and a piano solo by Judy Hubert. Loretta Bernbom will design the program cover. Kathy McEnery is in charge of invitations. 81 Per Cent Vote In Junior Election A turnout of 81 per cent voted in the April 9 election of senior class officers for the 1962-63 school year. Rosemary Harrington, who de feated Jackie Hughes, will serve as senior class president. Beverly Kemp, newly-elected vice presi dent, won over Denise Kenny. Assuming the duties of SAC rep resentatives for next year are Judy Hubert and Sharon Mass who de feated Mary Carol Kwasigroch. Maureen O'Brien and Marianne Wagner, who ran unopposed, will take their posts as treasurer and social chairman respectively. Kathie Montesano defeated Kathy McEnery in the race for secretary, and Sharon Curulewski won over Patti O'Toole for the position of sergeant at arms. on Channel 5 at 9 a.m. Sundays. The programs a project of the Archdiocesan Radio and TV Of fice and part of Religion and Life, a public affairs program on NBC, are directed by Father Donald Cunningham of St. Clement's Par ish. The format of the show consists of a panel discussion and a play followed by comments. Drama alumnae Carolyn Kilkenny '58, Mary Penkala '60 and Mary Ann Fogarty '60 take part in the plays along with Frank Cihlar, a student at Loyola University. Also participating in the pro grams are Dr. Martin Maloney of Northwestern University and Mun delein, Dr. Charlotte Lee of North western, Father John O'Donnell of Quigley Preparatory Seminary, Fa ther John Wetstein of Maryknoll Seminary and Dr. Marshall Smul- son, Loyola Dental School and in structor last semester in Munde lein's speech therapy department. Dr. Smulson has been the leading man in several Mundelein produc tions. A medieval mystery play of the Cornish Cycyle, Three Marys, will be staged with a modern in terpretation. Medieval morality and miracle plays will also be produced. Some of the modern works being con sidered are Murder in the Cathe dral, Gideon and The Flower ing Peace. Fashions, Buffet Set for Soph Day Hawaiian fashions and a buffet dinner will highlight Sophomore Class Day activities on Wednesday, May 2, in 405. Members of the class, to be chosen by style show chairman Fe licia Folino, will model ensembles from the Hawaiian Shop, 29 W. Di vision. Under the direction of General Chairman Sheila Prindiville, com mittee chairman Madeline Ham mermeister, Jomarie Maurice, Pat Rochford, Mickey Spillane and Pat Johnson, have planned an after noon which will include gag awards and other entertainment.
