October 14 At the sophomore-junior party, elections of class officers were held, and friendly intercourse between the two classes was begun. October 22 We always did have a liking for readings accompanied by music, and Miss Peycke, in her recital, made us even more enthusiastic about them. October 27 The Latin Class visited the Vergil exhibit at the Newberry Library, and were much impressed with the early editions and facsimiles of manuscripts displayed there. The exhibit was held in commemoration of the two-thousandth anniversary of the poet's birth. October 23 The Laetare Players set the ball rolling with a tea for their pledges and were those would-be actors delighted with their pledge cards? October 24 The Welsh Singers Gay jackets, bright buttons, graceful old-world manners, combined with beautifully blended, richly toned voices to make this concert a delightful and memorable one. October 29 The Mass of the Holy Ghost was celebrated in the college auditorium, and another tradition was thus established at Mundelein. After the Mass, Father Robert M. Kelley, S.J., president of Loyola University, gave a most stimulating talk, pointing out to us the intriguing possibilities of our unique position as the founders of the spirit and traditions of the college.
