Jane Trahey was elected senior vice- president; Coletta Roche is secretary: Patricia Tierney is treasurer, and Jane Addison is social chairman. Patricia Could is sergeant-at-arms. The incoming junior class reelected Rita Ann Mulhern president. Ruth Rinderer and Theresa Schniid were chosen members of the Student Ac tivities Council. Mary Jane Maloney will be junior vice-president; Margery Rowbottom will be class secretary and Patricia Flynn will be treasurer. Marcella Garrity was reelected social chairman, and Marion Stoffel was named sergeant- at-arms. Betty Jane McCambridge was elect ed president of the incoming sopho more class, and Charlotte Smith and Betty Geary were named sophomore re presentatives on the Student Activities Council. Aileen Farrell '37, a dietitian at Cook County hospital, volunteered recentlyjrfpr foreign serv ice with the U. S. Afrriy. Another home economics major, Mary T. Kavanaugh '.35, chief dietitian and test kitchen supervisor of the Chi cago Board of Education lunchrooms, contributes an articlgoii Nutrition Fun damentals and then- Application to Restaurant Feeding to the May issue of The American Restaurant Magazine. Kathryn VV'olford '.17. who takes her Master's degree in music at North western this year, played her graduation recital for Mundelein Faculty mem bers and students in the recital studio on the seventh floor on May 12. Tomorrow, Loretta Klodzinski '39. sister of Junior Shirley, will be mar ried to Gregory Mann, of the I'. S. Naval Reserve, and tomorrow, also, Eleanor Lally ex '41, sister of Fresh man Nancy, will be married to Thomas Callaghan. Marian Green Tatem '37, sister of Junior Dorothy, visited the college Tuesday with her baby daughter. The Tatems live in San Pedro de Macoris. Dominican Republic. Home Economists Show New Cooking Methods Recently assisting at the Red Cross Nutrition classes were Jeanne Kauff- nian. Lydia Boecher and Patricia Broils, who demonstrated cooking methods. Miss KaufTman's subject was the enriching of a diet with bread. Miss Boecher showed, in her demonstration, vegetables and their greater use for nutrition. Timing her subject with present sugar-rationing orders, Miss lirons, assisted by Mary Ellen Win- blad, discussed Sugar Substitutes. Seniors could easily be detected at the Junior-Senior luncheon on May 14, since they were given gardenia cor sages by their hostesses. The Crystal Ballroom of the Palmer House was the place the juniors chose in which to give the farewell luncheon for the Class of 1942. Frances Smith, junior president and general chairman of the party, spoke in honor of the members of the Class of '42. Dorothy Hein. president of the sen ior class, responded, emphasizing the appreciation of her class. Master of ceremonies Marianne Don ahoe introduced the speakers and mu sical selections. Bring Music To Commencement English Leads As Most Popular Major English again leads the field as the most popular major among members of the senior class, since 12 of them have selected it. Chemistry and economics tic for second place with nine majors each, and biology ranks next with six. Drama and sociology rank next with five each, followed by history and home economics with four each. The French department claims three majors, the art department two. and the mathe matics, music education, and organ departments one each. Climaxing a year-ful of performances, the Glee club under the direction of Adalbert Huguelet, will sing at Baccalaur eate and at Commencement.
