All alumnae of the Home Econ omics department were invited to a buffet dinner in the apartment. Jun iors and seniors in the department prepared and served the dinner. Mary Siffermann, senior, and Mary Therese Gauer. junior, were co-chairman. On the Arrangements committee were Sylvia Devine, Syl via Behland, Marilyn Fitzpatrick. Rita Serafin, Carolyn Burger, Phyl lis Guz, and Marianne Cray. Serving were Joan Kasmeja, Kathryn Wright. Betty Ruffolo, Bernice Ficht. and Dana Parducci. On the Rehabilitation committee were Mary Janssen, Collette Carey, and Marion Farrell. Frances Butler, Frances O'Don nell, and Sheila Corcoran were hos tesses of the homecoming. Honoring The Virgin Mary Two Freshman Religion classes presented a program Dec. 3. in Room 405, with Therese Indelli as chairman. Jane Panka outlined the dogma of the Immaculate Conception, and Eileen Fitzpatrick spoke on the Pa pal Encyclical. Fulgens Corona Gloriae. Noreen Gibbons described devo tion to Our Lady of I-ourdes; Ther esa Dudek spoke of devotion to Our Ladv of I aSalette. and Joan Kies talked on devotion to Our Lady of Fatima. Huette Aldrich considered Mary Immaculate as Patroness of the United States, after which Eliza beth Anderson described the Prom ise Card tradition in BVM schools, and the entire group placed Promise cards before the statue of the Virgin Mary. A Freshman Rhetoric and Com position class is doing elementary research on phases of Marian devo tion. Research paper titles include Shrines of France, the History of the Rosary, The Magnificat. Our I-adv and the Sodality, and Our Lady in Oils. Students in the Science and Mathematic departments enter tained 50 alumnae members at a Homecoming dinner and program in the tea room and the lounge. Chairman Mary E. Jones headed the Reception committee. Her as sistants were Betty Laschet. Mary Ann Arras, Betty Hentschel, Joan Busch. Loretta Rezutko. Collette Trzcinske, and Dolores Bihun. Nijole Gulbinskas, Alice Sokol ski, Rosemary Anzona, Joan Col lins. Patricia Fitzmorris, Mary Can ning, and Ruth Laurie, directed by co-chairmen Margaret Kahles and Milda Gulbinskas, set the scene with colorful decorations. They will attend the Women's National Aquatic corps forum in Hollywood, Florida. The Problem Of Free Trade concerned Freshmen and Sopho mores in the Debate tournament at Navy pier Dec. 5. On Dec. 4, Miss Farley, Mary Agnes Moran, Miss Voss, and Mary Frances Chambliss debated the same question with students from Wheaton college, at Munde lein. Equestrienne Club Members attended the International Horse show. Dec. 5. at the Ampitheatre.
