Page Four THE SKYSCRAPER Oct. 19,1966 Concert Pianist Performs On TV Artist's Showcase WGN's Artist's Showcase will welcome Sister Louise Szkodzinski, B.V.M., as soloist on the Oct. 23 broadcast. Sister will perform Beethoven's Piano Concerto in C Minor, a work which she calls ex tremely exciting. THE WGN ORCHESTRA, con ducted by Robert Trendler, will accompany Sister. In this concerto there is a constant dialogue be tween piano and orchestra, and since it is Beethoven, both have equally expressive roles, Sister commented. To qualify for performing on Showcase, Sister Louise auditioned before a panel including Louis Sud- ler, host and commentator for the program and Rudolf Ganz, a fam ous pianist. AFTER THE AUDITION sev eral panel members asked Sister why she wanted to perform. She replied, I want to bring live mu sic to people for their enrichment. I think live performance is essen tial in people's experience with mu sic. She added that she wants to share her experience as a musician with others. Following the performance, Sis ter will be interviewed by Mr. Sud- ler concerning the music she played.
