St udcrapinad AT LAST All the winter skirts and coats and sweaters can be packed away and forgotten among the moth balls and it is cutoffs for ever. There must be something domes tic about spring. Countless ladies who normally use safety pins to fasten and mend everything are suddenly sewing a spectrum of shifts, dresses and most every kind of apparel. This last month is the time of year when it is frightening to keep a calendar. Every meeting, every election, every party, every last anything is squashed into the last few weeks. Extracurricular activi ties just simply don't leave time for humdrum pastimes such as studying, not that anyone exactly needs much distraction. In all fairness, a warning must be issued to all faculty, especially those new to these hollowed halls. Beware the persuasion to have class by the lake. It's a trick because: It can take at least 15 min utes to walk down from the third floor. The gentle lake breezes will THE SKYSCRAPER Mundelein College 6363 Sheridan Rd., Chicago, 111., 60626 gently breeze away all notes, books and decorum. Even Mundelein women can go into hysterics over a friendly inquisitive spider or fly. However, it's a great ruse for the instructor who didn't want to teach anyway. Such a disturbance the rumored calendar changes for next year caused. No one gets too excited about changes that effect the school setup but tamper with summer vacation at your own risk. And, it wasn't even fact. Anyone able to pronounce cor rectly and successfully the name of the spring formal on the first try without any rehearsing de serves a prize. How about a first- class whatever Lahu Maukona means. Congratulations is the word of the month. What with everyone getting elected to offices or getting pinned-engaged-married or receiv ing grants and fabulous opportuni ties what else is there to say? One fascinating aspect of life here with mother superior is all the unstated but subtly understood rules like: Don't use the marble stairs un- speech, mathematics or French. Sharon Atwood, Janet Bina, Kathie Carroll, Mary Jo Drakle, June Graziano, Margie Koczwara, Pat Larsen, Frances Lee, Rose Ann Majcher, Christine Mitchell, Bar bara Mosley, Kathy Riley, Carolyn Schultz, Pat Smith and Mary Sul livan are student tutors. less accompanied by someone who is acquainted with its intricacies and difficulties: i.e. faculty. Don't climb trees on the front campus; they're scarce enough without added hazards. Don't use the faculty elevator unless there is no authorized per son running the regular elevator. Never trust an unauthorized per son. Don't go down on the lower breakwall, the one that every kid in the neighborhood plays on con stantly. Don't clap erasers out the win dows on the front of the sky scraper; they leave messy white blotches to offend low-flying heli copter pilots. Don't worry about any of the above unless someone is watching, and, if anyone gets caught, don't say where the idea came from. It seems appropriate that, what with the new drinking regulation and all, that this should be national tavern month.
