Step inside for initiation and sustenance. -Miss Agnes Von Driel presents a historical and practical discussion of social service for our consideration during Vocation Week. -Mary Jane Sullivan and Sallie Agnes Smith convince their audience that India should not be given complete independence immediately, despite the forceful arguments to the contrary presented by Betty Schneibel and Betty Venemon of Purdue. -Laetare Sunday is observed by the Mundelein Laetare Players by attendance at Mass in Stella Maris Chapel, a pertinent, inspiring talk by the Very Reverend Monsignor F. M. O'Brien, a delightful breakfast party, reception of new members, and the awarding of honors. The golden rose is bestowed upon Eleanor Joyce. 6-13 This week is one succession of meditations about those imminent careers, from the talks on religious life by the Reverend James J. Mertz, S.J., and on marriage by the Reverend Jerome V. Jacobsen, S.J., through the week to the highly practical open-forum conducted by the Reverend Clifford LeMay, S.J., on Friday. -The decidedly worth-while program arranged by a committee of the Bellarmine Club in commemoration of the 650th anniversary of the Death of St. Thomas Aquinas culminates in an instructive lecture on the Angelic Doctor by the Reverend George Mahowald. -Would-be scribes and journalists blithely attend a vocational meeting of the Press Club and are inspired to run the gamut of the fascinating journalistic careers suggested. The Greeks and the Irish: Can you imagine the conversation? 17 The freshman defeat the sophomores at basketball. The score? Well er let's not mention it. 18 Die Rothensteiner Gesellschaft present two one-act plays, En Route, and Holy Night.
