Mundelein College was founded in 1930 as a Catholic women's college. The school became affiliated with Loyola University Chicago in 1991.

Sister Irene Meyer graduated in the class of 1951 from Mundelein College with a BA in Pyschology with a minor in Music. Both of Sister Irene's parents immigrate from Germany and Irene was the first of her family to go to college. Sister Irene entered the BVM community in 1952. Sister Irene earned her PhD in Psychology from St. Louis University and returned to Mundelein College to teach.

Mother Teresa was a Roman Catholic nun and founded the Missionaries of Charity. Mother Teresa's work focuses on the poverty stricken, children, and the ill. Mother Teresa received numerous awards for her work including the Noble Peace Prize.

Dr. Moylan joined the BVM community in 1959, after time at Northwestern University and St Louis University. Dr. Moylan earned her BA in History from Mundelein College, an MA from Stanford University, and a PhD from the University from Illinois. Dr. Moylan held a professor position from 1974 until affiliation with Loyola University Chicago in 1991. Currently, Dr. Moylan is a professor of Modern British History at Loyola University Chicago.

Margaret Egan Namovic graduated in the class of 1951 from Mundelein College. Namovic graduated with a BS in Physics and Math Chemistry and worked for Kraft foods in Research and Development.

Carmen Navarette was born in Cali, Columbia. Navarette attended grammar and high school in Columbia. She earned her BA (1979) and MA in Intercultural Studies from Governors State University. Navarette worked as a Bilingual translator at St John Berchmans School in Chicago from 1983-1984, and as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor at the Latino Training Center. At Mundelein, Navarette was the Director of the Hispanic Women's Program and Hispanic Services Office from 1985 until Mundelein's merger with Loyola University.
